Best Weapons in Butcher Hero

Published: 2026-10-30

The best weapon in Butcher Hero depends on the enemy: the game gives every island a weakness hint, and the right damage type beats a higher rarity. The regular weapon line has 15 weapons, one for each rarity from Common to Legendary in each of the Cutting, Piercing and Smashing types, and the three Mythic weapons from events sit on top. This page lists them all and shows what each type's best weapon does.

Weapons by Damage Type

Weapons deal Cutting, Piercing or Smashing damage. Every type has exactly one weapon of each rarity, so the table reads as a ladder: pick a column for the damage type and climb it from Common to Legendary. Each cell shows the weapon and its first ability. Names with a link have their own page.

The game lists Magic and Universal as damage types too, and Universal shows up on the Mythic Mushroommancer helmet and shield, but the regular weapon line stays inside the three types above. The Butcher Hero item list covers helmets, shields and accessories as well.

Best Weapon per Damage Type

The Legendary tier is the top of the regular line in every type, and each one plays differently. This is a look at what the abilities do, not a ranking: which one is best depends on the enemy in front of you.

Cutting: Void Ripper. It is a Rage weapon. Rage Engine raises its damage by 25% to 50% per Rage level for 7 seconds on every Rage level up, Overdrive Rage does the same for attack speed, and Rage Precision adds 2.5% to 4% critical chance per Rage level. It rewards long fights where Rage keeps climbing.

Piercing: Abyss Talon. It is a Mark weapon: Marks on an enemy raise your lifesteal by 5% to 15% each, and its other abilities raise the Mark chance and your attack speed. It suits fights where you need to heal while you hit.

Smashing: Mystic Mallet. It is a Lightning weapon: 12% to 30% chance per hit of a Lightning Strike that doubles the damage of that blow and leaves the enemy Shocked. The Epic Titan Hammer is its natural partner, because it consumes that Shock and repeats its empowered opening blow again.

Mythic Weapons

Update 2.1 brought three Mythic weapons, one per damage type. Event rewards are where they turn up, and each one copies the damage of the strongest item in its class, so there is no damage number to chase. Each Mythic weapon has a Legacy ability that fills a progress bar and grants inheritance steps, plus a specialist ability and a third ability for its type.

Titan's Fury focuses on the Boss Tower with Tower Breaker and heals you for 30% to 70% of max health when Fury Guard blocks a hit. Crimson Thunder deals bonus damage to the Crystal with Crystal Crusher, and Crimson Lightning triggers on 12% to 25% of hits for twice the damage of regular Lightning. Phantom Fang hunts event bosses and kills regular event enemies in one hit with Event Hunter.

Best Weapons for Farming

Farming is a different job from fighting. Many Common weapons carry an Extra Bounty ability: Steel Splitter has Cut Devour, which gives a chance to gain permanent Cut Damage on a kill; Savage Fang has Pierce Devour, which gives a chance to gain permanent Pierce Damage on a kill; and Stone Breaker has Smash Devour, which gives a chance to gain permanent Smash Damage on a kill. One player carries all three Common weapons for damage Extra Bounty, adds helmet and shield pieces for lifesteal and health regen Extra Bounty, and keeps a fast Legendary weapon as the base.

Bat Cleaver suits tree clearing: Wood Tribute raises the stats you gain from trees by 25% to 60% and deals +100% damage to trees. On an island with no weakness, players prefer a farming setup of weapons and shields that can drop stats on a kill.

Matching Enemy Weakness

Look at the corner icons while you play. Green names the weapon type the nearby enemies are weak to, and red names the damage they deal, which tells you what armor to wear. One player describes the same habit: pick the weapon that shows green on the enemy. The minimap lists enemy types as well, so check it before you walk into a new area.

Switch weapons when the green icon changes. Carrying weapons of more than one type lets you answer each island without a long trip back to the inventory. The best builds page turns this into full loadouts for strong monsters.

Weapon Slots and Upgrades

You can bring several weapons at once, and VIP adds an extra weapon slot that the game's own tip calls a major late-game power boost. Players count five weapon slots in total, and the Butcher Hero equipment guide shows how each one opens. It also explains duplicates and Blacksmith sharpening, which raise item level.

Item level comes from copies of the same weapon, and each ability gets stronger at fixed levels. Several items also have a Divine form, and the store page says that evolving items unlocks new abilities. Mythic weapons grow through their Legacy bar instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best weapon in Butcher Hero?

No weapon wins everywhere, because each island and boss has a damage weakness. The top of the regular line is Void Ripper for Cutting, Abyss Talon for Piercing and Mystic Mallet for Smashing, all Legendary. The three Mythic weapons from events inherit the damage of the best item in their class.

Which damage type is best?

The one the enemy is weak to. The green icon on screen names the weapon type that nearby enemies are weak to, and the red icon names the damage they deal. The minimap also lists enemy types, so check it and bring weapons that fit the area.

What are the Mythic weapons?

Update 2.1 added three Mythic weapons: Titan's Fury (Cutting), Crimson Thunder (Smashing) and Phantom Fang (Piercing). Event rewards are where they turn up, and each one copies the damage of the strongest item in its class. Each Mythic weapon also has abilities that suit its type, such as Boss Tower damage, bonus damage to the Crystal or one-hit kills of regular event enemies.

How many weapons can I equip?

Slots open one at a time. Players count five altogether, with the VIP slot at VIP level 4 as the last, and a tip in the game calls that VIP slot a major late-game power boost. The equipment guide lists every unlock and what each slot needs.

What weapons are good for farming?

Farm with weapons that have a chance to drop permanent stats on a kill. The Common weapons carry the Extra Bounty abilities Cut Devour, Pierce Devour and Smash Devour, and one player runs all three weapon slots with them. On islands without a weakness, players prefer such a farming setup.

Are hammers good in Butcher Hero?

Hammers hit hard and attack slowly. One player recommends them for kiting when you are not strong enough to take enemies head on, and another says slow Smashing weapons are fine for early hit and run. Later, hammers like Titan Hammer and Mystic Mallet add Shock and Lightning on top.
