Butcher Hero Equipment Guide

Published: 2026-10-30

Butcher Hero gear comes in four categories: weapons, helmets, shields and accessories. Weapon slots 3 and 4 are mine quest rewards, VIP level 4 adds one more, and helmet, shield and accessory slots open with a message from the game. Items run from Common to Divine, and you raise an item by collecting copies of it, which the Blacksmith can sharpen for you.

Equipment Slots

You equip gear from the inventory by choosing an item and then a slot. The slot bar at the bottom of the screen shows your weapons, helmet and shield, and a padlock marks every slot that is still closed. Most slots open step by step, and the table lists what opens each one.

Weapon Slots

Each new weapon slot lets you equip an extra weapon at the same time. Players report that the second slot comes from the green hammer boss. The third and fourth slots are rewards of the mine quests, and players name the Cave Expedition quest for the third one. They also report a two hour countdown at the miner after you beat the quest boss, so start that quest early.

VIP level 4 adds one more weapon slot. The game's own tip calls it a major late-game power boost. The quests page walks through the mine chain, and the VIP levels page lists what else each level gives.

Helmets, Shields, Accessories

Helmets and shields give tons of armor and come with unique abilities. Accessories are a separate equipment type with their own unique bonuses and abilities. All three start locked, and when a slot opens the game shows a banner such as Helmet slot UNLOCKED. A VIP accessory slot opens at VIP level 10, and the shop sells an accessory bundle that lets you equip an additional accessory.

Best Armor Picks

Pick armor for the damage you take. The red weapon icon in the top-right corner shows the damage type nearby enemies deal, and the green one shows the weapon type that works best against them. The tips in the game add that weakness and resistance matching can outweigh raw item level, and that an item ability sometimes outranks an enemy's weakness.

Read the ability text before you trust the armor number. One player notes that pieces with thorns damage beat pure armor because they raise your damage output, and another favors Wooden horns for Health Regen. The best builds page puts these choices into full loadouts.

Item Rarities

The game has seven rarities, listed here from the lowest to the highest. Players say the colors show weapon quality, and you collect the same weapons over and over to level them up. Chest level strongly affects how often Legendary items drop and how much loot a chest holds.

RarityTierWhere it shows up
Common1Tier 1 Blacksmith mobs drop Common souls
Uncommon2A Blacksmith upgrade allows sharpening Uncommon items
Rare3A Blacksmith upgrade allows sharpening Rare items
Epic4A Blacksmith upgrade allows sharpening Epic items
Legendary5A Blacksmith upgrade allows sharpening Legendary items; regular Boss Tower bosses drop a Legendary soul

Divine7Empowered Boss Tower bosses drop a special divine soul

Weapon Types

Weapons deal one of five damage types: Smashing, Cutting, Piercing, Magic or Universal. Every enemy group is weaker to some types, and the minimap shows the enemy type hints for each location so you can choose matching weapons before you walk in. Defense stats follow the same types.

Damage typeDamage statDefense statWhat the game says
SmashingSmash DamageSmash DefenseThe game says hammers pair best with setups that focus on regeneration
CuttingCut DamageCut DefenseAxe builds scale with Max Health bonuses, and every equipped Cutting weapon lowers Blacksmith mob Evasion
PiercingPierce DamagePierce DefenseStack Marks on enemies to make knives stronger and raise lifesteal

The stats guide explains each damage and defense stat in detail, and the best weapons page ranks individual items.

Copies and Evolution

Items level up through copies. Collect more of the same item and its level rises, and the game says you need a set number of copies to unleash a new special ability and boost its stats. Weapons that drop again are therefore not wasted: they feed the item you already use.

Evolution goes further. Item evolutions can unlock brand-new abilities, and the game shows a Requires level message when an item is not ready to evolve. The game's tip says to prioritize enemies that drop item evolution materials for faster power spikes, and the game lists an Evolve Cost Reduction stat.

Accessory Experience

Accessories level differently from other gear: they gain experience from every kill and unlock new abilities along the way. Star Compass, Vitality Charm, Regeneration Charm, Vampiric Charm and Magic Charm are accessories that carry Extra Bounty or stat drop abilities, which the level up fast guide puts to work.

A Soul Tree upgrade makes accessories gain twice the experience, and Blacksmith upgrades raise the experience that Common accessories earn. Once your main accessories reach the maximum level, swap them out so the others can level up.

Blacksmith Sharpening

The Blacksmith opens as a reward of the mine quests. It sharpens unused items to create copies and raise their level. You choose an item, the Blacksmith works for a while, and you collect the copies when the sharpening is complete. The window shows the time for a full upgrade and the time for the next copy.

Sharpening also earns elixir, the Blacksmith currency, Upgrades unlock new rarities and raise the maximum copies per sharpening, so the Blacksmith gets more useful the longer you play.

Blacksmith Upgrades

The Blacksmith has 71 upgrades. They fall into these groups:

GroupUpgradesWhat they do
Sharpening slots10Unlock the second to sixth sharpening slot and let slot 6 take Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary items
Sharpening rarity4Allow sharpening Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary items
Sharpening speed and copies11Speed up sharpening and raise the copies you get per sharpening, for all items or one rarity
Sharpening elixir5Raise the elixir earned for sharpening items of each rarity
Blacksmith mobs33Spawn, limit, respawn, damage, drops and variants of the Blacksmith mobs
Accessory experience7Raise the experience and copies that Common accessories earn
Convenience1Let you equip an item while it is being sharpened

Blacksmith mobs, shown as crabs in the Blacksmith stats, are the second source of elixir. Tier 1 mobs spawn first. Tier 2 mobs are tougher, dodge attacks and give more elixir. A Tier 3 mob spawns once per day, grows stronger with every kill and pays more elixir each time, and a later upgrade removes the daily kill limit. Mobs can also spawn as Big mobs, which have more HP and give more elixir, or Golden mobs, which regenerate HP and give more elixir. The mob table shows the mob type (regular enemy, Low Boss or High Boss), how many are on the map, the next spawn, the kills left today and the reward per kill. Blacksmith enemies take reduced damage.

Geodes are worth more when your Blacksmithing level is higher, which ties this system to the Demonic Crystal page.

Mythic Weapons

Mythic is a weapon rarity above Legendary and below Divine, and you find Mythic items in event rewards. The three named in the update are Titan's Fury, Crimson Thunder and Phantom Fang. Climb the event leagues for better rewards, as the events page explains.

Loadouts and Pinned Slots

The inventory buttons at the top left swap between saved sets. Hold the loadout button to save your current items, and tap it to switch back. Pinned slots protect your best gear from Equip All, so the button never swaps out the item you pinned. During a fight, tap and hold an item or accessory to open its details.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I unlock the third weapon slot?

The third weapon slot is a reward from the mine quests. Players name the Cave Expedition quest and report a two hour countdown at the miner after you beat the quest boss. The fourth slot comes from the same quest line, so finish the quests in order and wait out the timer.

How many weapon slots can you have?

Players count five weapon slots. They report the second comes from the green hammer boss, the third and fourth are mine quest rewards, and the fifth is the VIP slot at VIP level 4. A tip in the game calls the VIP slot a major late-game power boost, so it matters once your other slots are full.

What are the item rarities in Butcher Hero?

The game has seven rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Divine. Common is the lowest and Divine the highest. Mythic is the newest tier and drops from event rewards. Players say the color of an item shows its quality, and you raise any item by collecting more copies of it.

Can I use an item while the Blacksmith sharpens it?

Not at first. While an item is sharpening it cannot be used, but you can press Take Off to save the progress and finish later. A Blacksmith upgrade, listed as equipping items while they are being sharpened, removes the restriction, so buy it if you rely on a single strong weapon.

How do I level up accessories?

Accessories gain experience from every kill and unlock new abilities as they level. A Soul Tree upgrade doubles the experience they earn, and Blacksmith upgrades add more for Common accessories. Once your main accessories reach the maximum level, swap them out so the others can level up too.

Where do Mythic weapons come from?

Mythic weapons are event rewards. The three named in the update are Titan's Fury, Crimson Thunder and Phantom Fang. Each one inherits the damage of the best item in its class, so it stays useful as you replace other gear. Check the events page for the current rewards and league goals.
