Slime King in Butcher Hero
Slime King is the first Titan of the Boss Tower, and he is a slime that refuses to stay dead: when he dies he splits into 2 stronger slimes, up to 2 Splits. His weakness is Marks. Every Mark adds 10% lifesteal for you, all slimes share the Marks and there is no limit, so the more slimes you hit, the more you heal.
Slime King at a Glance
Slime King greets you at the start of the Butcher Hero Boss Tower, and he is the Titan to learn first. The tower list describes him with the line "Begins like a punching bag. Ends like a problem", and the fight lives up to it: the first slime is easy, and the pieces that come after are not.
| Boss ability | On death Splits into 2 stronger slimes, max 2 Splits |
|---|---|
| Weakness | +10% lifesteal per mark. Marks are shared among ALL slimes, marks have no limit |
| Elite ability (every 10th floor) | Increases max Splits by +1 |

| Soul Tree upgrades for this fight | Increase Legendary equipment drop by 1 for Slime King in Boss Tower; On Slime spawn, apply extra Marks |
Your Slime King floor does not depend on how far you got against the other Titans. Tickets refill daily, and the game urges you to spend them each day.
How Splitting Works
When a slime dies, it does not leave the arena. It splits into 2 stronger slimes, and the game caps the chain at 2 Splits. A new slime appears with more power than the one you just killed, so the middle of the fight is the most dangerous part: the arena fills with slimes that each hit harder than the starting boss.
The Marks make this manageable. The weakness text says Marks are shared among all slimes and have no limit. A Mark you place early stays useful after the split, so a long chain of hits builds up lifesteal that heals you through the crowded phase. Fast weapons help here because they place and use Marks more often.
One player describes a simple positioning trick: keep the slime you are hitting between you and the others. Slimes behind it cannot reach you while it blocks the way, which turns the crowd into a queue. Combine that with the Marks and you can fight the pieces one after another instead of all at once.
Using His Weakness
His weakness reads: +10% lifesteal per Mark. Normal Marks have a cap set by your stats, but here the text says marks have no limit, and every slime shares the same pool. In practice, the goal is to place Marks as quickly as you can and keep attacking, so the lifesteal bonus climbs while you fight.
- Abyss Talon gives a Piercing weapon a 10% chance per hit to place a Mark, and each Mark on the enemy raises your lifesteal from 5% at the base item to 15% at the top level.
- Phantom Fang applies Marks with its first hit on each enemy. After a split every new slime is a fresh enemy, so the first hit works again.
- Venom Shard gains a chance to apply a Mark for every empty equipment slot, which suits a lean loadout with few items.
- Phantom Edge and Ember Fang do not place Marks themselves, but both turn the Marks on the enemy into more crit chance, damage or trigger chance.
The Soul Tree adds to this. One upgrade applies extra Marks when a slime spawns, so every split starts the fight with Marks already on it. To see how the tree opens, read the Soul Tree guide; for lifesteal and the Mark stats, use the stats guide.
Slime King Video
The video runs the Boss Tower fights one after another, with Slime King among the first Titans: the arena, the boss health bar, the fight timer and the rewards screen.
Weapons and Gear
A tip in the game links the abilities on your items to the weaknesses of tower bosses, and for this boss that points to Mark items. Players say a tower boss has no weakness to a weapon type, so judge a weapon by its ability. The best weapons page lets you compare the options you own.
Players report that daggers carried them through floor 10 of Slime King, and one player suggests armor against Cut damage. Treat both as starting points. If your build clears the lower floors, the Mark loadouts on the best builds page make a good model.
Empowered Floors and Rewards
On the 10th floor and every 10th after it, Slime King is Empowered: he keeps his usual behavior and gains his elite ability, which raises the maximum number of Splits by 1. That is a bigger change than it sounds, because every split makes 2 slimes, and each one is stronger than the last.
A Divine soul waits on the Empowered floors, and the ordinary floors pay a Legendary one. Hammers show up in player reports of his drops. Once a floor is beaten, you can raid it for a ticket and get the loot with no fight, though never a soul. One more Soul Tree node adds a Legendary equipment drop for this boss.
Step by Step
- Open the Boss Tower portal and pick Slime King. He is open from the start.
- Equip a weapon that applies Marks, and add a second weapon that reads them.
- Hit the first slime and keep attacking, so the Marks build up and the lifesteal starts healing you.
- Keep the slime you are hitting between you and the rest, and finish one target before you move on.
- Watch the timer and the health bar. If a slime wins, work on your stats or change your loadout and go again, which is also what the game suggests.
- Once you win, raid that floor each day for equipment and look at the Soul Tree upgrades for tickets and Legendary drops.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you beat the Slime King in Butcher Hero?
Stack Marks. His weakness gives you 10% lifesteal for every Mark on him, and the Marks are shared by all of his slimes with no limit. Use weapons that apply Marks, keep hitting so the lifesteal keeps healing you, and fight one slime at a time. Each death splits him into two stronger slimes, up to 2 Splits.
How many times does the Slime King split?
A regular floor allows 2 Splits, and each split makes 2 stronger slimes. On an Empowered floor, which is every 10th floor, his elite ability raises the maximum by 1, so you face a third round of splitting. The slimes get stronger with each split, so thin them out early.
Which weapons work best against Slime King?
Weapons that apply or read Marks fit his weakness best. Abyss Talon applies a Mark with 10% chance on hit and Phantom Fang applies Marks on its first hit against each enemy. Players also report clearing floor 10 with an all-dagger loadout, so a fast weapon that lands many hits is a safe start.
Is the Slime King available from the start?
Yes. The tower starts with three Titans, and he is the first of them, next to the crab and the Vikings. Reaching the portal takes gems dropped by the map bosses, and the three later Titans (Vampire King, the Lich and the Demonic Berserker) are bought in the Soul Tree. Floors are counted separately for each Titan.
What does Slime King drop?
He drops equipment, and one player reports hammers among it. Souls drop too: Legendary on the ordinary floors, Divine on the Empowered ones. A node in the Soul Tree adds 1 extra Legendary equipment drop for him alone. A raid repeats a beaten floor for a ticket and leaves the soul out.
